Spiced Beef Pilaf

Ingredients to serve:

This recipe was originally designed for 5 people. Amended serving sizes for 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 people are intended to serve as general guidance only. Cooking times may need to be adjusted to suit your amended serving size.
  • 7½ cup Hinode Rice (any variety) (cooked)

  • 2½ lb Beef (cubed)

  • 10 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 7½ tsp Crushed Ginger

  • 7½ tsp Crushed Garlic

  • 7½ tsp Crushed Coriander

  • 5 Cinnamon Sticks

  • 5 Onions (diced)

  • 2½ cup Chicken Stock or Water

  • 7½ tbsp Rasins

  • 1¼ bunch Cilantro (roughly chopped)

  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Method

  • Heat oil in a saucepan, add beef and fry until lightly browned.

  • Add onions, ginger, garlic, coriander, cinnamon, and saute for 2-3 minutes.

  • Add stock or water and simmer until beef is tender. Prepare rice per package instructions.

  • Add raisins, stir in the rice and season with salt and pepper.

  • Serve and garnish with cilantro.

  • Tips HINODE Fragrant Rice (Basmati or Jasmine) can be used in place of HINODE Long Grain Rice. To save time, you can use an already prepared spice mix.
