1 Small Onionchopped, white or yellow
1 1/2cups Chicken Brothfat free
114.5 oz can Diced Tomatoes
1/4tsp Black Pepper
1tbsp Chili Sauce or Hot Sauceas desired
1/2cup Salsa Verdeor other salsa
1pinch Saffronif desired
- Add garlic and rice - sauté until the rice turns from opaque to white and begins to brown.
- Add rice mixture and remaining ingredients to slow cooker and mix well.
- Cover and cook on high setting for 2 hours.
- Turn off cooker, fluff rice with fork and serve or keep on warm setting until served.
